The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation is a New London-based nonprofit group named for an Old Saybrook woman who died of breast cancer in 2005 at the age of 41, two years after being diagnosed with the disease. The foundation was created in 2006, with the goal of dedicating all gross fundraising dollars to breast cancer research while covering administrative costs through sponsors or volunteer-provided funds. Since it was established, the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation has provided $4.4 million in grants to 44 breast cancer researchers.
